Here are some examples of the building cleaning services we offer: Roof cleaning Many roofs gather a build up of moss, which can start blocking the gutters leading to leaks inside and outside the building, so it’s important to keep your house or office roof clean, especially if you have trees around. We can restore your roof to its original colour, clean the gutters, and also trim your trees if necessary. We can access the area to be cleaned using cherry pickers or abseiling equipment, so there’s no need for expensive scaffolding. Cladding cleaning Every building is different. For example, you might have noticed that one half of your building gets dirtier than the other. This is normally caused by the wind direction, or other environmental factors such as overgrown trees running along one side. If your cladding is not getting enough light, you might notice algae growth turning it green. Sometimes this can actually protect the paintwork, though it doesn’t look great, but it can also eat into it. Either way, a thorough clean of the cladding can make a huge difference. Stone cleaning We don’t like to use chemicals on stone unless it’s specifically requested, as there’s a risk of damage. Instead, we use hot pressure washing for stonework which involves heating the water up to 150 degrees – hot enough to remove stains caused by graffiti, algae and pollution. Stone cleaning is a delicate job on any building, so please get in touch to discuss the problem with us and we’ll come out and survey it for you. Window cleaning and sealing As well as cleaning your windows we can seal your window frames and panels. A common problem is gasket bleed from window frames which can stain the cladding on your building. This happens as the gasket ages and the elements dry out the rubber around the window. Replacing the gasket every three years can prevent it, and sealing your window frames and panels after cleaning will help. The sealant lasts around three to five years, depending on the conditions outside. Patios and block paving cleaning Algae, weeds and general grime can build up on patios and block paving, making them look shabby and potentially creating a slip hazard. We can clean up the slabs and bring them back to their original colour. We also re-sand block paving after we’ve cleaned it, as the process can dislodge some of the sand from the joints. We're always ready to come out to do an urgent or one-off clean, but regular cleaning and property maintenance can protect your premises and stock, as well as making sure you give every visitor a great first impression. Here are some of the ways we help our customers keep their buildings clean and in good condition: Gutter clearing and maintenance We often see roofs where the gutters are blocked with algae, bird matter and other build-up. This can cause real problems, particularly on factory roofs where the gutters are level and the water only drains down a hole when it passes a limit of the downpipe. Water sitting within the gutter line can cause corrosion around the joints and the downpipes. We can come out on an annual basis to clean out your gutters. This normally involves a full clean out of all debris, followed by a jet wash and unblocking of any downpipes. We’ll carry out an inspection to make sure everything is working and your building is being properly protected from leaks and water damage. Building cleaning and maintenance When people come to a clean, well-maintained building it tells them you’re somebody they want to deal with. In addition, neglecting the exterior of your building can lead to more serious damage; for example, bird matter on cladded buildings can melt the paintwork after a period of time. We recommend that any building exterior should be professionally cleaned every three to five years, depending on its surrounding environment. We offer jet washing for building exteriors, as well as a whole range of other services including cladding and trim repairs, pointing services, electrics, painting, metal fabrication, line painting, brick work, concrete repairs, carpentry, and window replacement. Professional window cleaning We would suggest that windows should be cleaned every six weeks; for factories this could be once a quarter. This all depends on the environment around your building. We can also clean and repair skylights. As well as exterior building cleaning, we also offer one-off and regular cleaning for building interiors. Cleaning after building work We can carry out thorough interior cleaning to get your premises sparkling and ready for use after the builders have been in. We offer this type of clean in a whole range of buildings, industrial or residential. Factory cleans To make sure the factory’s ongoing activities aren’t interrupted during cleaning work we liaise closely with our customers and ensure the area to be cleaned is properly cornered off. Often factory floors gather a lot of black marks from the forklifts. We find the best way of removing these is using the scrubber dryer. This removes the marks, while giving the floor a thorough clean and removing any dust and stubborn stains at the same time. If the factory is empty and needs to be prepared to be re-let, we can jet wash the insides of the building, including the roof, to ensure that all of the dust is washed down to the floor. We also have a scrubber vac machine to remove any excess water. Supermarket sparkle cleans After the store has closed, the Draco team get to work cleaning the store from top to bottom. We clean everything we possibly can, from the floors, fixtures and fittings to the office areas, tills and shelves.
The problem We were called out by Jaguar Land Rover to help them with a major problem at their factory unit in Birmingham. The gutters were leaking, potentially causing thousands of pounds worth of damage. They told us they’d had a number of contractors out, but the problem still hadn't been fixed. What we did Our team went up to inspect the large roof area. We decided to clean all of the gutters and refill them with water. This way, we would be able to see where the problems actually were. We discovered that the leaks were coming from eight downpipe inlets, called "top hats". We took measurements of the top hats, and had some new ones made out of fibreglass. We used these to replace the old top hats, and resealed them on top of the roof and inside the factory. After a couple of days we went back to the site and filled up the gutters again with water, and found that there were no more leaks. A happy customer Three years on, our solution is still holding and we go back to the factory every year to carry out regular gutter cleans and inspections.
The problem The grocery chain Lidl asked us to come in to look at a problem with the tiled floors inside four of their stores. They had had cleaning contractors coming in each month to clean the floors, but they had just been pushing the dirt around and letting it dry on the tiles. What we did We took a closer look at the tiles and realised that what we could see wasn’t their real colour. We carried out some test patches on the floor with a different cleaning product and the difference was amazing. A happy customer We now have an ongoing contract with Lidl on these four stores, and we also look after 84 of their stores when they need cleaning.
